Springfields, Preston and then Risley, Warrington Nuclear Research Facility.  Dave had many happy years working in this industry.  He had a keen interest in science and in particular nuclear power.  This is where he picked up his enthusiasm for running and joined the Springfields running club. 

When he moved jobs to Warrington, he had a long drive to get to work and back in Leyland, but managed to bring up his son at the same time as well as having a very healthy social life with his running and cycling friends.
