Thoughts

You are such an amiable, gentle, kind and special person. We are still in the shock and can’t believe that we lost you so unexpectedly. You always put everybody else before yourself. You take very good care of our daughter just as she is your own daughter. You made her feel England is her second hometown. Our two families, one from far east Beijing and one from England became one whole united family by fate. During our visits to England, we had spent so many wonderful family holidays. Those happy moments are priceless. We can’t believe that we won’t see you again and can’t believe our last visit in 2018 was our last time together. We miss you dearly. Dave, may you be happy in heaven and rest in peace. Love from Junqing and Wenying

My Dad was the best father anyone could ever have wished for. Growing up he was always there for me, always interested in what I was doing, always giving of his time, always as helpful as he could be, always in a positive mood, always doing is best for me and always supportive He was a role model of how a father should be, and I will try my best to live up to the example he set. Later in life he helped FangFang and I however he could, arranging our wedding, supporting us in our career choices, house moves, and in raising Lucas and Alex – he would be there whenever we needed him. His passion for running also rubbed off on my wife and I and it is now a hobby that will stay with us forever. My Dad was also a very proud Grandfather. There was nothing he looked forward to more than spending time with Lucas and Alex and watching them grow up. They had many happy times with my Dad at the seaside, particularly Southport, playing on the beach and walking along the pier and playing the old slot machines. It is a tragedy that he will not see them grow into adults, but Lucas and Alex should know that he was very proud of both of you he loved them both very much. My Dad was a very positive person, he had many interests and hobbies, and he was interested in and caring of others. He just loved life, and people loved being around him. He made good friends wherever he went. We will all miss my Dad terribly. The thought that he will not be with us at future Christmas’s, birthdays, family holidays, and other special occasions is devastating. What we have though are many happy memories that we will cherish and he would want us to think of those, preferably whilst enjoying a decent pint of real ale. We loved him very much. Rest in peace Dad, thanks for all that you gave to us, we will think of you always.
